Yorkshire Dales - such a beautiful piece of Britain

I am not sure, if it is possible at all, but I think I am even more in love with the UK than I've been before...

We've been to Yorkshire for a week - after some trouble with airline, flight itself and lots of miles we finally arrived in Giggleswick, Settle, Yorkshire Dales to stay at http://www.settleholidaycottage.com/ to chill and relax.

We really enjoyed our time in the Dales... due to the tailends of the tropical storm "Katia" we spent a lot of time lounging by that cosy fire...

But when the wind was back to normal, we could really enjoy the scenery.

Isn't this just lovely??? I could have just sat there and watch the landscape...

... and some lovely fish as well... now it's time to go back to a really strict diet... ;-)

Empty capsule on the London Eye...

"A little digging has revealed that each pod is being replaced, one at a time. It gets lowered at night onto a pontoon and floated to Tilbury,where it's packed onto a lorry for Worcester. When they've finished they send it back and the next one gets removed. Instead of closing the wheel, it's being upgraded a pod at a time in preparation for the2012 Olympics in London. That way it gets a make-over and still turns a nifty coin for its masters."

Eine der Kapsel am London Eye war leer, weshalb ich mal nach dem Grund geforscht habe. Offensichtlich werden alle pods nach und nach ausgebaut, auf ein Ponton gepackt und über die Themse bis Tilbury geschippert, von dort geht's mit dem LKW nach Worchester. Nach der Überarbeitung werden sie zurück transportiert und die nächste Kapsel wird ausgebaut...und alles wegen der Olympischen Spiele 2012.

You know - we really love the Brits...all of them! They're kind, lovely, funny, friendly and we can't get enough of them. Also you know by now that we love the country as well. 

But...there is a but!!! What about drying your hair IN the bathroom....in front of a mirror with all the stuff women need to get ready for work...for a party...for sightseeing...for shopping??? 

What is the problem?

To dry your hair in UK you'll have to sort something out! Because there aro NO sockets for hairblower in the bathroom, and you'll need a mirror NEAR a socket, the Rambling Sisters built this wonderful construction! Well...it's kind of fun actually!

Wir lieben die Briten - alle...ohne Ausnahme! Sie sind immer nett, liebenswert, lustig, freundlich, hilfsbereit und wir können nicht genug von ihnen bekommen. Genauso gerne mögen wir das Land - jeden einzelnen Teil davon! Aber...warum kann eine Frau in UK NIE im Badezimmer ihre Haare fönen?? Weil es in britischen Badezimmern KEINE Steckdosen für den Fön gibt! Wie bringen das die britischen Frauen fertig???...bevor sie zu Arbeit gehen, zu einer Party, zum Bummeln, Einkaufen und und und???

Eine Frau braucht eine Steckdose in der NÄHE eines Spiegels und da wir dies nie vorfinden, sind die Rambling Sisters erfinderisch geworden. Sie hängen Spiegel ab und bringen sie in die Nähe einer Steckdose, sie bauen Verlängerungen zusammen und dann sieht das so aus, wie unten zu sehen! 

Hier hängt ein wunderbarer Spiegel, aber leider so niedrig, dass es den Mädels nur im Sitzen möglich war, ihre Haare in Form zu bringen! Und irgendwie macht das auch wieder Spaß!!

Natürlich gibt's noch mehr in Wales! Man kann z.B. einer Herde Pferde begegnen...einfach so.

We found a lovely Tearoom in Ogmore, near Ogmore Castle and had a delecious Applecrumble...heavenly!

Direkt neben Ogmore Castle fanden wir einen reizenden Tearoom. Es gab dort leckeren Applecrumble...mhmmm!
