Great days out in Kent & Suffolk - Part Two

Technically this grand estate isn't in Kent or Suffolk... But I simply had to show you this superb Georgian building. We had a fab day out at Wimpole Estate, Cambridgeshire.

Tatsächlich ist dieses Anwesen nicht in Kent oder Suffolk, aber den Anblick dieses georgianischen Prachtbaus wollte ich euch nicht vorenthalten. Wir hatten einen tollen Tag in Wimpole Estate, kurz hinter Cambridge.

I love Walled Gardens... this one in Wimpole is just great. Even the outer orchard has its own walls...

Ich liebe Walled Gardens - der in Wimpole ist ein hervorragendes Exemplar. Sogar der äußere Obstgarten hatte eigene Mauern rundrum...

This is Lavenham Guildhall... a fine example of the earlier wealth in Suffolk. You can still find lots of Tudor houses with their quirky beams in and around Lavenham...

Die Lavenham Guildhall ist ein gutes Beispiel, was die reichen Weber in Suffolk mit ihrem Geld gemacht haben... In und rund um Lavenham gibt es immer noch eine Menge Fachwerkhäuser.

Thanks to our friend C. who recommended a day trip to Framlingham Castle and Orford Castle we had a great lunch at the local Bakery & Cafe in Orford (the loveliest British cheeses ever - yummie) and could enjoy this view from Framlingham Castle's wall walk.

Wie immer hatten wir gute Tipps von unserer Freundin C., die diesen Ausflug nach Framlingham und Orford empfahl. Inklusive lecker Mittagssnack in der ortsansässigen Bäckerei & Cafe. Leckerste Käsesorten, alle von den britischen Inseln. Danach haben wir den Ausblick beim Spaziergang über die Außenmauer von Framlingham Castle genießen können.

I could have shot another thousand or so pictures of the Suffolk landscape.... Especially just before sunset... lovely, isn't it?

Gerade abends vor Sonnenuntergang, wunderbar, oder?

Well, those pictures are just a tiny selection of impressions of our week in Suffolk. I loved the tiny cottages, the colourful houses and Georgian Mansions. I'm pretty sure we'll be back!! ;-)

If we ever win the lottery, something like this house would be very high on our wish-list...

Tja, das hier ist nur eine kleine Auswahl der Eindrücke von unserer Woche in Suffolk. Besonders mochte ich die winzigen Cottages, bunten Häuser und die Herrenhäuser. Ich bin sicher, wir kommen wieder!

Und sollten wir jemals im Lotto gewinnen, würde ein solches Haus ziemlich weit oben auf dem Wunschzettel stehen...
